About Phoenix Desert Nursery

Established in 2006, Phoenix Desert Nursery is a family-owned and operated plant nursery specializing in cacti, succulents, and desert plants. Over 3 acres, Wholesale + Retail.

Phoenix Desert Nursery is a plant nursery in Phoenix, Arizona. It is listed at 3525 E Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85040, which places it among the local businesses of Phoenix that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

In Phoenix, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in Arizona, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. Typical hours are 7 am–1:30 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (602) 574-1926. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, phoenixdesertnursery.com.

Customers rate it 4.8 out of 5 on Google across 105 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded plant nurseries in Phoenix.

Phoenix is in Arizona, in the Southwest, where the desert climate brings very hot summers, mild sunny winters and the summer monsoon; outdoor businesses shift their hours toward early mornings and evenings in the hottest months. Getting around Phoenix is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Arizona's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

It's worth the drive! Phoenix Desert Nursery offers the best prices you will find, featuring high quality nursery stock and an amazing selection. You will also get excellent guidance when making your selections. Be sure to talk to Richard, you will know him when you see him. This place is the find you were hoping for.

One of the best nurseries in town. What makes this Nursery Stand Out is actual reasonable prices, you can get a big expensive cacti or you can go get smaller guys that are about a foot tall for like 12 to 8 bucks. Instead of going to a tree and only getting one for like 50 bucks you get a bunch of different dope specimens. The guy that works there is really nice and you can tell that he loves cacti too

A must-see amazing large and varied collection of healthy Arizona desert (and other origin) flora!!! Had to restrain myself to only go home with 4 items today but definitely will be back when I own property and am no longer renting. β™‘β™‘β™‘

This nursery is huge! Richard was so helpful with picking out cacti! The prices are fantastic and there are tons of varieties available that we hadn't seen in other shops.

Worth the trip and then some! I’m from Texas and made a point to stop at this nursery while visiting Arizonaβ€”and I’m so glad I did. I haven’t seen anything like what they’ve built at the Phoenix Desert Nursery. It’s clear this place is the result of 40 years of passion and experience. The owners really know their stuff, and it shows in every part of the nursery. The selection of native desert plants is unreal. Rows and rows of healthy, thriving cactiβ€”many grown right there on site. They even rehabilitate saguaros, which is something you don’t see just anywhere. The whole nursery is big, open, and easy to wander through. No cramped aisles or messβ€”just space to explore. Prices are affordable, especially considering the quality. I could pay triple in Texas for the same plants and most I couldn’t find. And the owners are super knowledgeable without being pushy. If you care about desert plants or just want to see something special, this place is 100% worth a visit.
